The Holborn Hotel is owned by a local family who took the place over 3 years ago, in that 3 years they have renovated and updated the whole hotel.
Bar 16 is where you can come and enjoy a nice bar meal or just enjoy a drink what ever takes your fancy. Bar 16 has become a popular place for both young and old people to enjoy, we serve cocktails and there is also a jukebox with a great variety of music that is updated on a regular basis. We also have a pool table and an outside seating area where people can sit out and have a drink or smoke or both. We also sometimes have live music in Bar 16.
We also have homebaking available in the bar, if people just fancy something sweet with their coffee/tea. The bar has quite a good coffee trade in the mornings especially on Wednesdays when we have a group called the international group who meet there and enjoy a cuppa with us.
In the Bar area we have an area that we call the balcony, this is available to groups who would like to sit in the bar area and would like to reserve a table also for small parties where we can decorate this area and also supply a chocolate fountain and special cocktails for the evening ahead.
We also have the Red Pepper restaurant, which was recently nominated for a Highlands and Islands Tourism award called dining out and we were nominated by people who came to dine with us here and enjoyed their experience.
The Red Pepper served lunches during the day which is the same menu as our Bar 16 and in the evening we serve an a la carte menu, in both places there is also specials of the day which our chefs review every day.
We also have a small room that is presently being refurbished and hopefully will be finished within the next 2 weeks, this room we have decided to call the store room as it was once a store room. This room will be used as a private dining area where people can come along and enjoy a private meal with other guests, also this room will be available for people wishing to have a meeting and we will be doing a delegate package for this type of function.
We are hoping that we will be able to hold small weddings in the Holborn once this room is finished and people will be able to have their wedding breakfast here with us as well.
We have 9 en-suite bedrooms in the hotel, all of which have shower facilities in them, tea/coffee facilities and televisions. We also have wireless broadband access for our guests.
We are a great place to stop if someone is traveling to or from the Orkney Islands as the Scrabster ferry link is only 10 minutes away from us and we can arrange for breakfast to be served earlier if people need this.
At the Holborn we pride ourselves in being friendly and accommodating to all our guests, we serve good food with a smile on our faces and hope that guests will enjoy their experience with us and come back.
